How To Take Better Photos With Your iPad

You don't have to be a photographer in order to take beautiful photos. I'm not a photographer, but some how I manage to take great photos, you say "what's my secret?" Easy--lights, camera, action! Boom, fabulous photos. Its that simply.

What works for me is good lighting, lighting is very important for good photos. Most photos at night do not come out very good, so make sure you have good lighting. For some reason, my best photos are taken in the afternoon. Generally the more light the better, but that's not always true. Its better to have more litghing than none at all, but sometimes lighting is too much lighting. If your photos come out kinda a whitish color, then it might be best to delete it, sometimes photos may come out white or more of a blur, to prevent this happening, it might help to tap the screen in the middle of the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch first, this makes the camera focus on whatever you're trying to take a picture of. Generally the older the camera is the duller the picture is going to look, but this isn't always true; Our iPad is a thread generation iPad from 2012? So it's gonna be 2 years old this year, but it still takes gorgeous photos.

Another thing is to hold your camera as still as possible, this should prevent your photos from looking like your 2 year old child took it. If you have shaky hands, this might be difficult, especially if you're holding up a big as* iPad! The smaller your hands are the more difficult this should be. I have decent sized hands, so this is rarely a problem for me. It might help to set the iPad on the floor (still hanging on to it), but per say if you're trying to take a picture of your dog laying on the floor, then put the iPad standing up on the floor then take your picture(s), I will occasionally do this.

This photo of Anya was taken with an iPad, but I was using the trick I mentioned above--I call this the "Floor Dweller Mode". Easy to do, if you know what you're doing that is.
I call this photo "Moon" or "Anya Moonfur". Photo taken Monday or Sunday; I honestly don't remember.
Photo taken today; I'm a master, lol.

  1. Your cats must be just a dream to photograph as it must be almost impossible to get them looking bad in any light or shape as they are all just gorgeous. The icicle pic is fabulous too.

  2. Your photos are so beautiful! You capture such great moments of your fur babies and beautiful nature.
I agree, good lighting is important. I use my iPhone most of the time because my regular camera is so old and won't take good pictures.
