My New Little Boy!!!!

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2015

Hi Everyone!

On 6-26-2015 I brought home my new little baby boy from Tampa, Florida. His name is Zayd and he is a male Blue Colorpoint Ragdoll kitten, he's 3 months old and weighs 4lbs. 3 ozs! I have a feeling he'll be bigger than Nico as an adult. Zayd was born 3-25-2015, his parents were Nina (a Seal Colorpoint the mom) and Adonis (a Seal Mitted with a star blaze the dad, Adonis was a Grand Champion Ragdoll in TICA! ). Adonis was born 6-21-2011 and Nina 10-1-2007.

Zayd is a total love and a big momma's boy! He is almost always purring and just loves life -- nothing phases this baby. He is highly energetic and loves to pounce on my hands as I type on my laptop's keyboard. He is also easily amused and likes to play with just about anything. He is a lover not a fighter and is a cuddler like Nico was.

Zayd bird watching.

Thank you, Misty for entrusting me with this beautiful boy! (Zayd is my future breeder and show cat).

More information about Zayd Thursday. Come back Wednesday for a special celebration!!! :-)

Happy Father's Day!

Nico (right) and Saphira (left) in May 2014. Although Nico never had any kittens, I think he would of been a pretty cool dad. Regardless, Happy Father's Day!

Review Day: Nutro's Perfect Portions Salmon and Tuna Canned Cat Food

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2015

Hi Everyone,

Today we are reviewing the Nutro's Perfect Portions Salmon and Tuna Canned Cat Food from Chewy.com, it comes in a variety of flavors including: Salmon and Tuna (what I picked to review for my 3 girls), Chicken, Turkey, and Chicken and Shrimp. All the flavors come in a case of 24, they are made to be broken up from the middle to offer 2 portions (that adds up to 48 from a two pack of 24 cans in any flavor) which is awesome and great for traveling! These have been a life-savor, we recently moved houses 40 miles from where we originally had our place and I brought Saphira with me, I did not have the time to dig through a ton of boxes to find a bowl to server her food from, so I just fed her it from the container of the Nutro's can, a little bit more narrow than her actual food bowl, but it certainly worked okay!

All 3 cats love this food, but it gave Saphira diarrhea. I now only give this food to Star and Anya whom are fine on it. I usually give this food to them mixed with their dry food, and Saphira does okay on it that way. One thing I hated about this food is that it reaks. And, I mean it just freaking smells terrible; picture 12 day old rotten fish left out in a plastic trash can in 90 degree weather. Then open the can. Yuck! Here in north Florida, we have been receiving 90 - 95 and up degree weather, I do not appreciate taking out the trash in this weather only to open the can and smell that terrible fish smell! On the flip side, the cats do love this food and the ingredients are great! If you're looking for a little to no smell canned cat food with great ingredients, then I highly recommend using Tiki Cat. We reviewed a 12 case in 2014.

Pros:

* Nutro actually owns their own company. Unlike many brands that claim that they do, when in reality they don't.

* No corn for Star's allergies.

* Great size and perfect for traveling with.

* Easy to use and open (does not require a can opener, you simply peal the label off. Easy-peasy).

* Fast shipping.

* Great customer service ( as always, I have never ever received a cold reply from Chewy.com and they are quick to fix any problems I had).

* All 3 cats love the taste.

Cons:

* Gave Saphira diarrhea.

* Smells terrible!

* Made the cats' poop smell worse and gave them gunky eyes and ears.

Wordless Wednesday: Nico's Distinctive White Saddle Stripe

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2015

Although Ragdoll cats are an American breed (CA, USA.), Nico had this saddle (back) stripe of white that looked like Mexico from the map (you can't really see it unless you looked upside down). But Nico and I are Old Glory Americans. ;-)

The Blue Bicolor Ragdoll Cat Transformation

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2015

Thanks to my craze over Nico and Anya, I have taken many photos (thousands to be exact) over our 2.11 years together. However, I got them both at 3.11 years old in 2012, so all but the last two photos of Nico (my late male Blue Bicolor Ragdoll) belong to their old owner. I am very grateful to have had the joy of seeing them both as kittens as young as 2 months old thanks to her.

As of 10-14-2008, Nico (left -- Blue Bicolor and Anya -- right a Blue Mitted) are 2 months old.

Nico (also 2 months old), so there is little of change, but this is one of my favorite baby pics of him!

Nico 3 months old.

12-14-2008 they would be 4 months old. Nico left and Anya right.

5 months old.

3 years old. I am sure I have 1 and 2 year old photos, but I'd have to ask. :-)

Mr. Brightside

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2015

It hurts to say that if Renato was alive he would be 1 year old today. I just can't believe he left so young, just 4 months old when it was our time to say goodbye. I chose his name in honor of Nico, only for Renato to have the same death as Nico. Maybe I set myself up for a trap naming new life after an old death. But Renato died a much more peaceful death than Nico did, and my last few memories of Renato were of him lying in my arms only moments before he died. Nico's death lead to dreams, then half remembered nightmares and flash backs of him being disoriented by lack of oxygen to his brain and a failing heart.

Renato will always be loved and remembered.
"Forever in my heart. Some day in my arms."
-Unknown.

"Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean 'I'll miss you' until we met again".
-Unknown.

And, since it is Monday (Nico and Renato Monday), here is a picture of Nico dated June 30, 2014.
