A Little Bundle of Short Joy Added to My Life 2 Years Ago

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Today marks 2 years ago since I got Renato. I remember picking him out from the rest of his 4 litter mates and choosing him - after all, he had Nico's eye color. He was the runt of the litter, but boy did that not stop him, he was a cat's cat. I went home from Maine with him lying in my lap the whole way, he would walk on a harness and leash out on the beach, to parks, he'd follow me from room to room, he'd join in while I'd shower, he'd play with flipping book pages, he loved fruit roll ups and yogurt, he would 'help' with the laundry (and when I say 'help', I meant lie in the basket), he didn't mind be lathered in yoghurt by a 2 year old, he went for countless rides in the little lego cart of the 2 year old's, he would sit in the 2 year old's exer-saucer, he would steal beef jerky and run away with it, he took after Nico's love of fetching, he would take hour long naps with the 2 year old, he would join in on me typing away into the computer for the blog, he'd ride joyfully in the car sitting on my shoulder looking out the sun roof of the truck, he was Anya's savior after Nico was put down, he mended my broken heart after Nico died, he was Nico and Anya's nephew and ended the same way as Nico. . . that's how short life can be.

Cordoba is in no way a replacement for Renato. But I feel blessed knowing Renato may still be with us - Cordoba was born May 1, 2016 (5-1-2016), Renato was born June 1, 2014 (6-1-2014). They were both born on the first of each month. Swap the '6' in 2016 for the '5' in May and you have 6-1 (June 1). . . all just almost 2 years after Renato was born. Renato has been reborn.

Life goes fast, its hard to make the good things last.

Review Day: Chewy. Com Catit Treat Ball

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for the comments on Star's bacterial overgrowth. She is almost healed! :-) Picking up her medicine refill today. She will finish the antibiotic for 10 days and stay on the probiotic for 20 days. Anyways, today the fluff balls are super excited because its time for our monthly Chewy.com  review! Yay! I was sent the Catit Treat Ball in the color blue - my favorite color. They know Life with Ragdolls so well! :-D Check it out here for yourselves: Catit Treat Ball

Treat balls are a great activity to keep cats slim and busy while you're away at school, work, vacation,  where ever you're staying! They keep cats intrigued and are a fun activity. They can keep your cats busy for hours (unless its Anya, who can get it all out within 2 minutes. . .) The Catit Treat ball comes in two colors; blue and pink. We received the blue. The blue one is $4.49 and the pink is $4.48 So if you're looking to save money, get the pink one! ;)

Angel says: "Come by and buy one of these!"

The size of it compared to a coffee mug.

Stuck kibble. :-(

This is upside down. Holds about 1\4th of a cup.

Cordoba's first review! She is sitting next to the Catit Treat Ball (left) and the Slim Cat Treat Ball (right). I reviewed the Slim Cat Treat Ball previously in April. Read our review of it at the end of this post.

Pros:

* Fast shipping.

* Great customer service.

* Inexpensive.

* Comes in two different colors.

* Has two different difficulty levels.

* All of the cats love playing with it.

Cons:

* Poorly made.

* Not sturdy.

* Kibble gets stuck in bottom. Almost impossible to remove.

* Too easy for my cats. Even Cordoba can figure it out way too easily. She is 3 months old.

* Non challenging. Kibble easily falls out - even with it closed to 'hard'.

* Drop it on the floor and its done for.

Overall, the cats and I rate the Catit Treat Ball a 3 star. I probably won't be getting anymore of these. The cats and I prefer the Slim Cat Treat Ball. Read our review of the Slim Cat Treat Ball in the color blue here.

Note: I received the Catit Treat Ball in the color blue for free in exchange for my honest review. All opinions and photos are my own. No part of Life with Ragdolls (that includes my photos!) may be rewritten, republished, or sold for without my permission.

Star Meets Our New Veterinarian!

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Hi everyone,

On August 19, 2016 I found a new vet due to personal preference to our old one. Plus, Star had very bad diarrhea with blood in it. The vet diagnosed a bacterial overgrowth in her intestines.  She had a annual physical exam, a 4 way fecal test, fecal testing, antibiotic for 10 days to kill the bacterial overgrowth, and a probiotic for 10 days to keep the good bacteria in. The good news is that Star's medicine is kicking in and the diarrhea is almost completely gone....the bad news is that my wallet is broken. But at least she is okay. ;)

Star loved and I mean LOVED the vet tech. She tried to follow her out the door to check the results on her fecal test.  Star was an absolute angel at the vet, she did not growl, hiss, scratch, or bite and Star has a reputation for an aggressive attitude. Not this time.
This was simply unheard of.
Good Starry Bear Bear!

Nico and Anya's Parental History is Now Available to You

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Lately, I've been receiving numerous requests to obtain Nico and Anya's parentage for viewing, while I do have both of their registration papers, I do not have their pedigrees yet. Nico and Anya were full siblings, so their linage is the same except for them themselves. I've been able to locate their sire's (father's) pedigree. Read here for Mr. Blue's pedigree (Nico and Anya's sire). We're proud to announce that there are no minks, sepias, solids, or any other non accepted variant in his bloodline and along with no red, lynx, cream, tortie, or torbie (accepted but new colors).

Mr. Blue
Nico and Anya's sire.
Chocolate Mitted Ragdoll born 7-16-2005.

Doin' Time

When Nico was alive, he'd lay on the desk just like this while listening to Sublime's Doin' Time song. He knew how to turn it on by himself too.

A Cordoba Update

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Well, it happened again - we have another Ragdoll (read more about her here ), she is number 8. Yes, 8. Tadpole, Nico, Anya, Renato, Zayd, Baloo, Cashmere, and now Cordoba.

Cordoba came from a breeder in Alabama. She was born 5-1-2016 and joined Life with Ragdolls when she was almost 9 weeks old ( had her since 7-2-2016). She is a seal mitted Ragdoll cat with a broken hourglass blaze (basically looks like Renato did, but with a blaze. Cordoba is NOT a replacement for sweet Renato who will always be dear to our hearts). She was out of a seal bicolor sire (dad) and a blue bicolor dam (mom). She is TICA registered like Anya. She is a future show cat.

Cordoba is now 3 months old and maturing beautifully, I am very excited about her future appearance in the show ring.

Beautiful.
