Review Day: Purina Muse MasterPieces Canned Cat Food

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Hi Everyone,

Today I have a review for Purina Muse MasterPieces Natural Pheasant Recipe with Sweet Potato & Spinach  canned cat food. It comes in a 24 pack of 3 oz cans for $30.99 as of December 29th, 2016 (the night I wrote this review). Purina is the Wal-Mart of the pet food industry. They make tons of brands, flavors, different animal foods, etc. They took over Fancy Feast and make Friskies, Dog Chow, Cat Chow, Puppy Chow, Kitten Chow, MannaPro, Muse, Tidy Cats, etc. Muse MasterPieces comes in several flavors: Duck with Spinach & Sweet Potato, Pheasant with Spinach & Sweet Potato, (what I reviewed), Quail with Carrots & Spinach, Chicken with Carrots & Spinach, Arctic Char with Tomatoes & Spinach, Tuna with Carrots & Spinach,

Sorry the photos are so crappy. It was raining hard when I took these.

Anya my helper.

Pros:

* Made in The USA.

* All 5 cats like it.

* Okay ingredients.

* Fast shipping.

* Multiple flavors.

* Good costumer service.

Cons:

* Expensive for 3 oz cans.

* Has wheat gluten, spinach, and sweet potatoes (bad for cats since cats are obligate carnivores).

* Gave all but Star and Anya diarrhea.

* Made by Purina.

* Has some questionable ingredients.

* Only comes in 3 oz cans.

Suggestions\Improvements I'd like to see in this product:

* Better ingredients (ditch the sweet potatoes, spinach, wheat gluten, etc).

* More options, like coming in a 5 oz can vs 3 oz.

The cats and I rate this a 3.5 star product and I probably won't be buying this again.

Note:

I was sent a free product in exchange for a honest review on Life with Ragdolls. All pictures, text, and opinions are my own. No part of Life with Ragdolls may be used without written permission from me.

An Updated On My Rabbit Kits

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Hi Everyone,

Here is a quick update on Lopster and Moon Traveler's kits, sorry it's short but I caught a cold this week and not really up to writing or doing much commenting now.

I ended up getting 2 does (females) and 1 buck (male) from this litter. One broken black agouti doe, one broken agouti buck, and one solid silver doe. The silver doe is staying with me as a future breeder and to eventually replace her mom (she is 2 years old next October). I named the silver one Nightfall, the agouti doe is Blossom, and the agouti buck was Snickers. Unfortunately, some thing killed Snickers one night when he was only 2 weeks old, and on his dad's birthday no less. Sad night.
His sisters are thriving at 4 weeks old. Blossom has a home for next month when they're 6 weeks old, Snickers was suppose to go with her. Such was not to be.

They're so cute at this age. Like little fluffy teddy bears or something, ha. They're going through two bowls of pellets a day and eating the hay from my own genius idea to recreate several suet bird feeder cages and stuff them with hay. Bam! No wasted hay. Lopster's kits have always gone as pets to people, but hopefully I'll start selling meat rabbits soon as well.

Snickers:

November 25, 2016 - December 14, 2016.

Nightfall.

Isn't she gorgeous?

Blossom.

Blossom again.

Nightfall again.

Review Day: AaronalBrecht Pet ID Tags

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a  quick ( I have to be somewhere tomorrow. This was wrote Friday night)  review for another trio of pet ID tags from AaronalBrecht,  I was sent one for Star, one for Saphira, and one for Angel. I own 7 tags from him (one was a gift and the rest were all reviews) and I've loved every one of them. They're very sturdy, well made, hold up well to being dunked in water (the tags hang a little too low from their collars and make it drop into their water bowls when they drink). They are more money than ID tags say from Petsmart, but they're way better than Petsmart ID tags and they're high quality and very pretty, not your typical plastic ones that fall apart in  a month. Some of the ID tags come with crystal attachments and the colors are: pink, ruby, crystal clear, sapphire, lilac, teal, turquoise,  and amethyst.

Star's: ID Tag for Star

Saphira's: ID Tag for Saphira

Angel's: ID Tag for Angel

Pros:

* Okay shipping.

* High quality.

* Many choices and different crystal colors and with and without a crystal option too.

* I'm very pleased with them.

* The cats don't mind wearing them.

* Not expensive.

Cons:

Nothing here!

Over all, the cats and I rate these 5 star products.
I really love AaronalBrecht's pet ID tags and if I get any more pets, I will definitely be buying some ID tags from him. These really are great tags. I have nothing negative to say about them.

A Brief Description of My Rabbitry and Rabbits

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Hey Everyone!

I've been hearing lots of people ask how I run my rabbitry and what breeds I use and among other things, so here goes.

I raise purebred Silver Fox rabbits, Mini Lops, and Giant Chinchillas. Both the Silver Fox and the Giant Chinchillas are American heritage breeds and the Silver Fox is rare and endangered. Both the Giant Chinchilla and the Silver Fox are listed on The Livestock Conservancy as Threatened (Silver Fox) and Watch (Giant Chinchilla). The Silver Fox is almost Critically Endangered. On the other hand, the Mini Lop rabbit is a popular breed and in no threat nor is it heritage.

I raise my Mini Lops for pets for other people, the Silver Foxes for meat and fur, and the Giant Chinchillas will be used for meat and fur as well. I currently own 10 rabbits. 3 Silver Foxes, 2 Giant Chinchillas, 1 Mini Lop, 1 Mini Lop x Dutch\Mini Rex cross, and 3 Silver Fox x Mini Lop crosses.

Giant Chinchilla:

The Giant Chinchilla breed was developed in 1921 by Edward H. Stahl of Holmes Park, Missouri. The breed was created using several breeds, but the two breeds that "ta-da'd" the breed were American Blues and a white Flemish Giant. The breed skyrocketed in 1922 as one of the best fur producing animals ever, in fact, Edward H. Stahl was so successful that he was the very first (and the only) person to ever make a million dollars off of rabbits. Wow! Giant Chinchillas come in only one color 'Chinchilla'.

Marshmallow. Giant Chinchilla doe:

Born May 28, 2016.

Sugar Bean. Giant Chinchilla doe:

Born January 20, 2016.

Sugar Bean and Marshmallow are half sisters (same sire, different dams).

Mini Lop:

Mini Lop is a popular small breed of rabbits as pets and show rabbits. Bob Herschbach created the breed in Germany in 1972. The Mini Lop came from a cross of the Standard Chinchilla and the German Big Lop. The first pattern was solid and in 1974 we were gifted with not only the solid pattern, but the broken pattern too. Mini Lops come in 13 different colors and 2 patterns. The colors are: Chinchilla, Chestnut Agouti, Lynx, Opal, Blue Eyed White, Ruby Eyed White, White, Black, Blue, Chocolate, Orange, Lilac,  And Tri Color.  The patterns are Solid and Broken.

Lopster (originally named Olivia) , and yes, her name is spelt 'Lop-ster'. Since she is a Mini Lop, I wanted to be amusing and name her 'Lopster' instead of lobster like the sea creature. I know, it's rather dumb. Haha.

Lopster. Mini Lop Broken Chestnut Agouti doe:

Born September ??? 2015. Mothered 3 litters!

Ashes. Broken Black Mini Lop x Dutch\Mini Rex cross buck. Son to Lopster x Shadow from my very first litter of rabbits!

Born July 1, 2016.

Silver Fox:

My favorite rabbit breed and my first ever breed! The Silver Fox is a beautiful American creation from several breeds, the guy that created the Silver Fox (Walter B. Garland) never fully discussed what breeds he used to make the Silver Fox that we have today, but one thing is for sure is that he used the Silver and the Checkered Giant with English Silvers, after 14 years the Silver Fox was born. It appeared in 1921. In 1925 the ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association) accepted the Silver Fox as a breed, the Silver Fox was once known as the American Heavyweight Silver, but was renamed Silver Fox in 1929. The Silver Fox was based off of the actual silver fox, a melanistic fox canine. Originally the breed came in just two colors, black and blue. Unfortunately, due to lack of show entrees the blue was dropped for showing. Years later and to unknown breed outcrosses, we have the chocolates and lilacs and some people are even trying to get white! What a disaster the 3rd developed heritage breed from America is becoming. Because of this, I will never breed chocolate, lilac, or white. Not ever. Silver Fox rabbits are the only breed with 'stand up fur'. This means that when you pet them from tail to head, the fur stands up and can not come back down until you flatten it back down to its normal position.

Moon Traveler. Silver Fox black buck. My very first rabbit! :

Born December 14, 2015. Sired 7 litters!

Blue Moon. Silver Fox blue buck:

Born January ??? 2016.

Moonshine. Silver Fox black doe:

Born May 1, 2016.

Note: All of my Silver Foxes are in full blown molt now. The brown in their coats is seasonal and will fade. It is not part of the Silver Fox coloring.

Note: I just bought Sugar Bean last Friday and she is still getting use to me so right now I currently have no good pictures. We're sorry for any troubles.

We're Back! A Recap of Whats Been Happening Lately

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2016

Hi Everyone,

Long time no read. I've been crazy busy again! For those of you that don't know, I breed and raise rabbits for fur, meat, and pets and the day after Thanksgiving (by the way, Happy late Thanksgiving!) I had a litter born, more about that later this week, but for now here is what has been going on lately:

We received Baloo's cremated remains from the vet. Rest in peace sweet Baloo.
Baloo:

May 26, 2011 - October 15, 2016.

We had our Thanksgiving and it was great.

BabyCat (Cordoba) had a severe food coma. Haha.

Ashes (my buck rabbit from my very first litter in July) turned 5 months old on December 1st. I look forward to his first litter next month!
This is my sweetest buck!

Cordoba turned 7 months old on December 1st. Cordoba is barely behind Anya in size.

Isn't she beautiful?

Anya right and Cordoba left. And yeah, I was feeling lazy that day and forgot to make my bed. . .

We had our first rain fall in 3 months! Anya hates the dark weather though. . .
I love rain but this weather is shitty.

I had these kits born 11-25-2016. This is the dam's 3rd litter and the sire's 6th litter. She had just 3 this time around, 2 black and whites and 1 silver that I am keeping for myself. The other 2 are already sold for January 2017. My litters go fast!
No, they're not born that cute. They're born ugly and fur less haha.

I believe this one to be a doe. We'll have to see.

I believe this one to be a buck but I'm  not quite sure yet.
