I raised two litters of puppies also. Minis are very cute. Hey can make hood dogs if properly trained and socialized at a young age. I owned an intact male from puppyhood til 2 1/2 when i rehomed him. I also owned several females. Out of the last three i owned and bred, two were extremely hyper. They never could be tired out. They all were extremly yappy! It drove me insane. That is why I had to rehome them all. Being terriers, they do have a prey drive. That means they will chase most anything and would need to be raised up with cats as a pup. They bark any chance they get. They need plenty of exercise as a whole. They require lots of grooming and monthy trims. Which I did myself. Minis are very smart. Although in my experiene with 5 different schnauzers and teo litters of puppies, they tend to be stubborn. Especially the females. They are really cute, and love a road trip. But they are typically stubborn, very yappy, and need plenty of exercise. I have always wants a dog (since I was 4) when my mum and grandma took me to crufts. I FINALLY got one at 11 years old
because we had moved house and I was responsible enough and had saved up.

Well Riley is a little vocal and will bark at anyone who comes to the door but she isn't one yet and is improving everytime. They are a breed that needs a lot of socialisation.

I have a cat who gets on with Riley. The key rmto success is that the cat is the boss. The cat if it is finding Riley running around the living room having her one minute of puppy madness will clonck Riley om the face with her paw but this is OK as it shows Riley she doesn't like it. Uf you got to my blog muttofmime.blogspot.com you will see photos of them sitting on the sofa together happily. They smare a funny little duo.

I would definitely recommend a mini to a first time owner as they are loyal to you and familily (a bit noisy to strangers though!) they don't need tons of exercise as they are a small breed although Riley and I do agility. They are great to train as they pick things up really quickly. The only thing is you will have to get them used to getting groomed from early on as their lovely coat will need you to brush it and be done around every 6 weeks with a groomer. They are independent and although love to play with you will find their own games and shouldn't be to bothered being left at home for a couple of hours on their own. They are an easy, funny and loving breed and Riley has been my first dog.

If you have any more questions just hop over to our blog and leave a comment.
