The Lynx Ragdoll Cat Pattern

Hi Everyone,

For quite some time now I have been meaning to getting around to posting a Lynx Ragdoll Cat Pattern post, and well -- today's the day!

Lynx is a new (10 - 20) year old secondary pattern, overlapping Colorpoint, Mitted, or Bicolor, adding a striking striped effect to the cat's original pattern. In the early 90's Ragdoll breeders starting outcrossing (mating one cat breed to another cat breed) to bring in the Lynx Ragdolls that we know of today. Lynx is a secondary pattern not a stand-alone pattern like Colorpoint, Mitted, and Bicolor.

I don't know who "Karen Watts" is, but she (never even heard of her before), she left me a comment last night at 11:07. Told me how my blog was "misleading" and how it was typed incorrect to my Pinterest account. My Pinterest account is (in a very small way) tied to my blog -- Life with Ragdolls. My Pinterest account is my own personal account, Life with Ragdolls is my own personal blog and hobby. Both are reflections of me and my life style. I am no involved with someone named "Karen Watts", I ignored her comment and had it deleted. The worst part is is that she claimed Anya as "her's". Anya is my cat and solely mine.

From Kittenhood to Adulthood: The Blue Mitted Ragdoll Transform

Happy 1st Day of Spring!

Blue Mitted Ragdolls are the most popular color x pattern combo. They are also one of the quickest Ragdoll cat color x pattern combo to complete, they're beautiful ghostly gray coat and appearance is striking at adulthood, the color can range anywhere from a cool crisp gray to slate or even a deep dark gray color. Ragdoll cats take 2 years to devolop their full coat color, 4 years to mature into an adult, and all Ragdolls are born completely white, all Ragdolls have a pointed coat and blue eyes.

Anya is a Blue Mitted and the photos below show her coat and color change. Do not use any photos without my permission first please!

Nearly 3 months old, taken on 11-10-2008 and she turned 3 months old on 11-14-2008.

Nearly 4 months old, they turned 4 months old on 12-14-2008. Nico on the left (Blue Bicolor) and Anya on the right (Blue Mitted).

Just a few days ago at 6 years old. My baby girl is all grown up!! :-(

Review Day: Chewy.Com's Evanger's Beef Heart Cat & Dog Treats

Hi Everyone,

Today is time for my monthly Chewy.com review, this month had a ton of great products to choose from, but ultimately I chose Evanger's Beef Heart Treats, because it is suppose to help strengthen cats's heart muscles and to help with HCM, as both Nico and Renato died of weak hearts. 30% of Ragdoll cats have (or carry) this deadly disease.

These are meant for both cats and dogs, but judging on my experience with these treats, I think they're more aimed at dogs than cats, they claim to be "gently dried", they're not; they're rock hard. I had to let them soak in near boiling hot water, chop them with a kitchen knife, hit them with a rock (no joke) and let them re-soak for another 30 minutes, and.....AND....still hard as a rock!! Star showed absolute no interest in these, Saphira liked them a little in the beginning, but they weren't a huge hit for long, Anya loved these, but they were too hard for her to chew up; no cat (wild or house) can chew side ways, only up and down. Plus Anya's mouth is tiny. They made Anya vomit in 20 minutes after eating them. The smell of these treats is also terrible. But on the bright side, they're all natural and only one ingredient (cow heart), they're a little pricer though; $12 dollars for a 3.5 oz canister.

Anya likes these.

I have no clue how this winded up side ways, but this company has over 75 years of selling these.

Yep. That's a cow's heart I am holding. What a trooper LOL.

If you have the time to soak, cut\chop, and serve then these are a wonderful treat or food topper. I've never been the kind of person to over feed or give too many treats to my animals, but I felt good giving them these.

Cons:

* Made Anya vomit

* Terrible smell

* Pricey

* Too hard

I *may* buy these again. Maybe. The cats and I rate these 3 stars.
