February's Cat PetBox Review

All Photo and Text Copyright Life with Ragdolls 2013~2015

Hi Everyone,

Today I am very fortunate to announce that I had the wonderful opportunity to work with a wonderful company called, PetBox. PetBox has monthly prescriptions for both dogs and cats, you can customize your PetBox for your dog or cat's specific needs or if you want to take a walk on the wild side, then you can get yours totally random! This is my very first review for PetBox, so I hope everyone likes it.  Now, on to what we received in our PetBox:

Shocking here: Saphira generally hates having her picture taken and Anya is the star...but not today!

Saphira.

  • Wellness Kittles Tuna & Cranberries Cat Treats:

Wellness Kittles Tuna & Cranberries Cat Treats

These treats are free of GMOs, meat by-products, wheat, corn, soy, artificial colors\flavors, and preservatives. They're under 2 calories per treat, perfect for cats who are trying to lose weight. Real tuna is the #1 ingredient, what more could you ask for?? My cats have had Wellness products before, and they love them, especially Saphira. Wellness makes both cat and dog food products, including treats, they use only natural ingredients which is one of the reasons why I love their brand, although they're on the more expensive side, I believe it is worth it for good taste and more importantly quality,  especially if your dog or cat has allergies to certain foods like Star does. These Wellness Kittles Treats come in a few different flavors, and they all come in a 2 oz (56.7) bag; over 150 treats in the bag. This flavor also has cranberries in it, perfect for your cat's urinary track health, and to help prevent UTIs (urinary track infections). Anya is a crunchy kibble cat treat addict and really enjoyed these, I personally prefer soft cat treats to the crunchy kibble kind, even Star and Saphira prefer these too, Anya will eat them too but prefers the crunchy kibble kind. ;-) These treats are a little smaller than a dime.
Saphira loved these.

Ingredients:

Tuna, chickpeas, peas, potatoes, chicken meal, whitefish meal, cranberries, blueberries, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocoherols), natural flavor, ground flaxseed, salmon oil, rosemary extract, green tea extract.

Pros:

* Great ingredients
* Cats love them
* Real tuna is the #1 ingredient
* No corn, soy, by-products, wheat, artificial colors or flavors, no preservatives
* Comes in 3 shapes: heart, star, and four leaf clover thing?
* Comes in other flavors
* Perfect for cats with allergies
* Great size
* Made in the USA

Cons:

 Nothing here!

The cats and I rate this product 5 stars.

Royal Canin Indoor 27 Feline Health Nutrition Cat Food:

Unfortunately, I could not find a link to this product via PetBox's website. **Sighs**.

This food is on the pricer side, and according to Amazon it is around $40 for a 15lb bag. The cats enjoyed this as a treat only, even though it is actual food. For the price (and quality) I probably will not be buying this after we run out of it, for as expensive as it is it is a cheap quality food, you can get much cheaper brands (only for better quality) like The GoodLife Recipe for around $6 - $8 dollars for a 6lb bag at Publix, this is the food I use for my 3 cats. The GoodLife Recipe is free of by-products, corn, soy, grains, etc. This food is not and it includes all of this in it's food. My 3 enjoyed this food as a treat, especially Star, but I can't let her have too many pieces of this food or she'll break out in hives and scratching due to her corn allergies. While this food isn't "terrible", it's just not to my liking.

This was great as a reward treat for Star when I took her to Pensacola, FL last Sunday.

Ingredients:

Chicken meal, brewers rice, rice, corn, corn gluten meal, chicken fat, chicken, natural chicken flavor, few fiber, rice flour, rice hulls, wheat gluten, dried plain beet pulp, vegetable oil, sodium silico aluminate, brewers dried yeast, fructooligosaccharides (whatever that is), fish oil, calcium sulfate, salt, potassium chloride, egg product, cloline chloride, DL-methionine, taurine, vitamins [DL-alpha tocoherol acetate (source of vitamin E), L-ascorbyl-2-polyphospate (source of vitamin C), niacin supplement, biotin, riboflavin supplement, D-calcium pantothenate, vitamin A acetate, pyridoxin hydrochloride (vitamin B6), thiamine monoitrate (vitamin B1), folic acid, vitamin B12 supplement, vitamin D3 supplement, sodium tripolyophoshate, tea, trace minerals [zinc oxide, zinc proteinate, ferrous sulfate, manganese proteinate, copper proteinate, copper sulfate, manganous oxide, calcium iodate, sodium selennite], L-carnitine, rosemary extract, preserved with mixed tocoherols and citric acid.

Pros:

* Cats love it
* Not too bad of a smell

Cons:

* Low quality ingredients

The cats and I give this product 3 stars.

  • Petlinks Wobble Nip Egg Toy:

Petlinks Wobble Nip Egg Toy

The Petlinks' Wobble Nip Egg Toy has become a favorite of Star's toys! I am highly surprised, because Star doesn't play much, and second it has catnip in it and Star doesn't really care for catnip all that much, she also prefers quit, soft, night time toys, so that's a shocker. Anya and Saphira do not care for this toy much or even at all, Anya hates loud toys\things (she's a very quite and reserved kitty), Saphira simply doesn't like it because it "chases" her back after she swipes it (meaning it springs back and Saphira doesn't expect her toys to fight back. Lol!). This toy contains inside a tiny ziplock bag filled half way with strong smelling catnip, you can refill the catnip as needed, just turn both sides of the toy left and it'll come undone, obviously to re-lock it, just turn right. This toy also has feathers on top of it, they're strong and sturdy and hold up great to aggressive Star teeth. The Petlinks' Wobble Nip Egg Toy has a weighted bottom and is made of hard plastic, colored red maroon on the bottom and cream on the top, there is also red maroon chickens on it. So cute!

Star just loves the Wobble Nip.

It comes apart and you can refill it as needed.

Pros:

* Cute style
* Star loves it
* Catnip inside
* Feathers on top
* Weighted bottom for extreme wobbliness
* Tiny holes in the top side of the toy to help enhance the "catnip experience"

Cons:

* A day time only toy; too loud at night for me and I sleep like the dead

The cats and I give this product 5 stars.

  • Yeowww! Catnip Heaaart Attack Pillow:

Yeowww! Catnip Heaaart Attack Pillow

Out of all the cat toy brands and companies out there, its hard for any one of them to compete with Yeowww! Yeowww! is one of (or possibly my number 1 favorite) cat toy company\brand, they have amazing effects on my cats, I brought Saphira the Yeowww! Rainbow off Amazon for her birthday last year for $15 dollars, it is only 6 ( 7 this month) months old, and it's color is already fading from constant usage and licking, Anya stole it from Saphira for weeks after I opened the package, haha. The Heaaart Attack version is no different -- still one of their favs here! This toy is made with 100% all natural catnip, grown in the USA. On the bottom side of the heart is red fur and on the top of the heart is red denim with their Yeowww! company name. The denim holds up extremely well to cat teeth and claws. Yeowww! sells a number of different cat toys in various shapes and sizes. I love Yeowww!

I personally love Yeowww! Especially for it's quality.

Tons of Anya hair on it, that's how you know she likes it. ;-)

Pros:

* Cats love Yeowww! and the toy
* Catnip grown in the USA
* Super stronge material and very durable
* Makes cats go crazy
* Cats play with it all the time
* Is heping Saphira lose weight

Cons:

* May make curtain cats go a little too crazy....

  • Petlinks' Carpet Clawz Cat Door Nob Scratcher:

Petlinks' Carpet Clawz Cat Door Nob Scratcher

Okay, Saphira totally loves this thing! She attacks it daily and it is already becoming fuzzy from so much usage. It also has a little ball with feathers hanging from the top of the scratcher, you can take it off if desired, and if you want to do that then you just turn it counter clock wise, and it'll come undone. I love how the Petlinks' Carpet Clawz Cat Door Nob Scratcher has a rope handle, verses a cloth material like my FatCat one. This scratcher is extremely sturdy (although it doesn't look like it), included in it was a small bag of catnip, which makes it much more attractive to cats (if they like catnip that is). Even Anya plays with this scratcher and she is front declawed, didn't do it and I am strongly against declawing.

Saphira loves this thing!

The ball comes undone. Perfect for kitties who don't like toys.

Pros:

* Great exercise for cats and kittens of all ages
* Catnip inside
* Cats love it
* A better option than declawing, declawing is evil!
* Great length to help cats stretch out entirely

Cons:

* Warning: do not use if you have carpet in your home, your cat will get confessed as to what they can and can't scratch, because it all feels the same.

  • Prisilla's Catnip:
Unfortunately, I cannot find the link to this product.

Prisilla's Catnip is naturally grown from a field. My cats weren't too crazy over this catnip for some reason, but Star did show a small interest, quite unusual because Star doesn't and has never really cared for catnip as much as Anya and Saphira do. I do love how it is grown from a field though.

Naturally grown from a field.

Pros:

* Star liked it
* Grown naturally from a field
* Made Star go a little crazy

Cons:

* Anya and Saphira (unfortunately) did not care for Prisilla's Catnip too much

PS: To answer everyone's question yesterday, Anya got frightened because someone slammed the front door after bringing in groceries.
