I'm Quitting Blogging

Blogging, what a joy. I've loved it for 1 year. But....maybe I'm not cut out for my work. I have no problem getting page reviews, but I lack comments; and by a lot. I've tried basically everything under the sun; Pinterest, Google+, Instagram, leaving my blog link around, leaving comments, following new people, etc. And I have 3 words for that: Shit. Ain't. Workin'. I'm not sure if its the way I write, or what, but I finally give up. I'm sad to say I'm leaving, but maybe I'll turn around someday. Leave your invisible comments--I'll be keeping this blog to myself for sometime.

  1. Have you thought about coming to wordpress? I started at blogspot and was lost. Moved to wordpress and felt more at home. When you decide to come back, maybe you will feel more at home there. So sorry for your huge loss and great sadness.

  2. I really love your blog, so I think it's sad that you're giving up. What I learned about commenting is this: only bloggers comment; it's very rare for others to do so, so focusing on Pinterest and Google+ etc to get comments is of no use. If someone leaves a comment on my blog, I always visit their blog and leave a comment in return and I noticed many others do so too. So I guess that the more you comment, the more comments you will get. Asking a question in your blog post may help too, because people don't always know what to say.

  3. Have you tried any contests that require comments to enter? I have only been blogging since June, but it seems to help. A lot of people like to read, but not leave comments-there are so many great blogs to read that it takes time so I think that is why people don't always comment. Keep trying.

  4. I started blogging several years ago. Comments are not what they used to be. Brandi had a lot of fans, but they aren't around much anymore. Many of those blogs have disappeared. And now there are so many bloggers I can't possibly read them all. So many blogs means far less commenting, I guess. We can only do so much.
Time changes things. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest are all popular. But frankly, I'm only on Facebook, and that rarely.
Sorry you are discouraged. Come back any time. I have you on Bloglovin!

  5. I love reading your blog and will miss it. It is by reading your blog and Dashound Momm's that encouraged me to write a blog, which I have not been too consistent with it...but I love it. I wish you the best!!

  6. It took me nearly 4 years to get 20 comments a day. The reality is I don't blog for comments, I blog for me and if see comments as bonus. I wish you luck with whatever you decide.

  7. to me it is not about comments; it is about writing and the need to write.

  8. I've been blogging for nearly 4 years and rarely get comments. I try not to think about that though: I don't blog for comments, I don't use Instagram to gain followers, etc. It can feel lonely though. Hugs to you, especially in this time.
